Welcome to Gilgara Retreat, located in the heart of the picturesque Margaret River wine region of Western Australia.
Gilgara is nestled on a hillside near the corner of Caves Rd and Carters Rd, just five minutes by car from Margaret River town, Gracetown and Prevelly beaches, the Cape to Cape trail and the famous Margaret River vineyards.
We specialise in couples' retreats, romantic getaways, ‘digital detox’ weekends and group bookings such as weddings, yoga and health retreats and corporate style events.
We keep the Homestead and surrounds very quiet and our are staff are non-intrusive offering you as much peace and quiet as possible. Surrounded by both cottage- style and native gardens, rolling lawns in a beautiful country environment, Gilgara is the perfect escape from your everyday life!Take time out to soak up Gilgara's peaceful ambience, while you experience the special magic of the Margaret River region!
Gilgara has two types of accommodation: GILGARA HOMESTEAD and GILGARA GARDEN APARTMENTS
1) Gilgara Homestead offers country style shared accommodation in a traditional farm house. Each bedroom has a king bed and en-suite private bathroom and there are 5 bedrooms in total. The Homestead features a shared lounge room, reading/TV room and dining room and limited kitchen facilities.
When staying in the Homestead, you will come into contact with other guests and share some of the communal spaces.
For absolute privacy, we recommend our Garden Apartments.
2) Gilgara Garden Apartments offer spacious self-contained accommodation, in a modern, split level, loft style apartment with garden views. Each suite comes with a spa bath, king bed, lounge area, TV, DVD player and a fully equipped kitchenette for self catering.
Please note, we are non-intrusive hosts and make sure you have all you need prior to your arrival. With no restaurant on site or concierge service, we encourage you to utilise and enjoy all the local services on offer in this wonderful region!

Once past the bridge take the first road on the left (Carters Rd). Drive six kilometres to the end of Carters Road then turn left (South) onto Caves Road. Gilgara Retreat is a few metres from this corner on the right.
